Building 2 Building BASE jump from Berlins tallest building with Escape
For over 3 years I have been coming to Berlin for train surfing, parties, stunts, climbing, but most importantly the atmosphere. A anything goes attitude with a habitual sense of freedom.
I’ve done a lot here but I’ve always wanted to perform something truly special, something unique in form. With Berlins limited tall buildings Its hard to find, but intuitively I knew there was a gem in the heavens.
One day I spontaneously went on the Park inn rooftop for sunrise…. tilting my head over the edge instantly the unknown dream I was looking for revealed itself. The landing pattern screamed at me.
The idea of a building 2 building BASE jump has been a childhood fantasy too me first seeded when I watched the film johnny English where they jump from plane and land onto a building…. as a 9 year old something about that excited me. its impossible to get things out of my head. Im a obsessive thinker. I don’t let things go. I never forget.
Berlin. My favourite city on this planet. Building 2 building BASE jump. Alexanderplats. the epicentre of Germany. The tallest. the stars are aligned. It was built for me to do this.
The canopy flight corrupted my thoughts day and night for around 2 months. I got on the road to the middle of Germany where I met @urbannasa and all his many wind turbines. sleeping in them…. jumping them… falling in love with them! Whilst I jumped the wind mills I visualising the landing pattern…. I wasn’t seeing German fields. I was seeing Alexanderplatz.
My landing area: a large rooftop. I had belief that I could land on it…. but of course missing it due to in perfect timing and wind unpredictably would be far from ideal. Electric tram lines, railway, cars, other buildings…. far from ideal. But I had belief… when its showtime… thats all that can ever matter. Belief.
I’m now a nomad. life on the road practically skint with the prime objective of freedom to do what I want when I want and how I want. so far its the best lifestyle decision I have ever made. I rely on any funds I can capitalise through what I do.
I sent lots of pitches to sponsors for this project with little success until one day I was smoking a joint with my friend when I discovered this eccentric carbon filtered roach. It filters out harmful toxins making smoking that little bit more healthy on the lungs. curious by this invention I emailed them a pitch to which they instantly shared the magic of what this project is. Again the universe presented me with a solution.purize were a massive help to igniting this project. Thank you for believing in the dream.
Whilst I’m at it thank you to every human has provided me with knowledge big or small within the art of BASE. Im extremely lucky that I have crossed paths with some incredibly experienced and knowledgable mentors who have shared with me the secrets of survival in the deadly game which is BASE! To that end, thank you to the many other humans involved in providing knowledge and expertise for this particular project! I LOVE ZE GERMANS! Efficient operators with powerful brains. Up the Germans!
Intuition is not a coincidence. Intuition is the billions of life experiences and information stored deep within the sub-conscious of which you have infinite access too. you may not be able to consciously decide why, when and how…. but intuition is the guiding force to all your answers. even life and death decisions. “Gut feeling” trust in it and it will trust in you.
After landing I escaped through the inside of the building and blended into the busy streets surrounding. I got myself a latte with oat milk, sat outside a cafe, lit a cigarillo and watched as a flurry of police cars surrounded the building I had just landed on. nicht heute Polizei, nicht heute.
